Ninja will be streaming Fortnite on Mixer.

Prolific streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins shocked his fans when he left Twitch and took his brand to Microsoft’s Mixer platform. Known for his Fortnite dominance, Blevins is excited about taking his video game livestreams to Microsoft.

Blevins explained that the reason for the switch was to further his career; he believes that Mixer offers a better opportunity for him to connect with his community. Twitch offered Blevins the opportunity to earn millions of dollars as he was broadcasting himself on Twitch and YouTube, showing off all of his skills.

Blevins even hosted a Fortnite event in March of 2018 with rappers Drake and Travis Scott along with football star JuJu Smith-Schuster. It was at this event that Fortnite took off to unreal levels.

The first Mixer event for Blevins was held on Friday, August 2nd, in Chicago at Lollapalooza.

One of the added bonuses of switching to Mixer is that streamers can share their controller with fans. The chat function also has a stronger array of features. This move poses a serious threat to Twitch, who fear that their followers will leave the company and head over to Mixer.

Mixer was trending on Twitter within 40 minutes of the announcement. The Ninja Mixer page quickly skyrocketed to over 28,000 subscribers.

Blevins is hoping to publish three books this year as well. They will include a how-to on streaming video games as well as a graphic novel. It will certainly be interesting to see how Twitch responds to losing such a prominent figure.
