Disneyland Sells 3 R2-D2 Droids For $25k Each

Hey, if you’re already in Disneyland, you’re ready to spend money, right?

What would you do if you had an extra $25,000? For three people visiting the Star Wars: Galaxy Edge attraction at Disneyland, the answer is pretty clear: buy a life-size custom astromech unit that looks like R2-D2. I mean, yeah, obviously.

According to The OCR, the robot can be controlled using a remote control that looks like an Xbox. It can roll around in the Droid Depot shop, rotate its head, and even’ greet’ visitors by chirping.

“You get to choose your own design and color scheme for the $25,000 R-unit droid,” The OCR says. “And you even get to decide if your own personal starship mechanic and fighter pilot’s assistant is grimy and battle-worn or has a factory-fresh shine.”

Unfortunately for interested customers with deep pockets, shipping is not included with your purchase of the droid. Delivery takes up to 90 days and only domestic orders are accepted. Returns or exchanges are also not allowed, so you better make up your mind before completing your purchase.

The new attraction, Star Wars: Galaxy Edge, opened at Disneyland on May 31. The same attraction will also be unveiled at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on August 29.
