Given all the battles and badge-gathering in Pokemon games, it’s easy to forget that the entire point of a Pokemon journey is to complete a Pokedex for research purposes. Some heroes stop villains with the help of their Pokemon, but many more make vital contributions to their ongoing study. If you want to be the latter kind of hero, then the newest Pokemon Go event is for you. Here’s a guide on Pokemon Go‘s A Mystic Hero event.

Pokemon Go A Mystic Hero Event Guide

Pokemon Go’s A Mystic Hero event began today, April 13, and is set to last until April 17. In this event, Team Mystic’s Blanche is looking for help on their Pokemon research, specifically in the sphere of Pokemon evolutions. If you help them out, you can get some nifty rewards up to and including an encounter with a special Lapras. Additionally, for the duration of the event, all evolving Pokemon will receive doubled XP and guaranteed XL Candy, and Lure Modules will last three hours.

The event features two three-step Research Quests, a timed one and a special one. The timed Research will expire when the event ends on April 17, while the special Research will be available indefinitely. There is also a set of Field Research tasks you can complete in any order, which you can complete for additional rewards.

The Field Research tasks and their rewards are as follows:

  • Catch any 3 Pokemon (Randomly rewards Upgrade, King’s Rock or Sun Stone)

  • Evolve any Pokemon (Rewards 300 Stardust)
