While I wouldn’t call game subscription services a “requirement” for modern gaming, per se, you can’t deny the level of convenience they offer. Being able to play a rotating catalog of games, old and new, whenever the interest strikes you is a pretty fantastic deal. If you aren’t a subscriber to PlayStation Plus, perhaps the new additions to the service’s Games Catalog will change your tune. Here’s what’s coming to PlayStation Plus Games Catalog for April 2023.

PlayStation Plus Game Catalog Games April 2023

According to a post on the official PlayStation blog, the following games will be added to the PlayStation Plus Games Catalog on April 18, next Tuesday. Remember that these games are available to PlayStation Plus subscribers of Extra or Premium tier, and some games are only available on PS4 rather than both PS4 and PS5.

  • Bassmaster Fishing (PS4/PS5)
  • Doom Eternal (PS4/PS5)
  • Kena: Bridge of Spirits (PS4/PS5)
  • Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom (PS4/PS5)
  • Paradise Killer (PS4/PS5)
  • Riders Republic (PS4/PS5)
  • Sackboy: A Big Adventure (PS4/PS5)
  • Slay the Spire (PS4)
  • The Evil Within (PS4)
  • Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus (PS4)
  • Wolfenstein: The Old Blood (PS4)

In addition to these modern games, subscribers to PlayStation Plus’s Premium tier will also receive access to these classic games, playable on PS4.

  • Doom (1993)
  • Doom 2
  • Doom 64
  • Dishonored: Definitive Edition

What is Leaving the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog?

As new games come to the Game Catalog, old games must leave to make room. On May 15, a handful of games will be removed from the catalog. You can see which games are on their way out in the “last chance to play” section of the Catalog in the PlayStation Plus menu. Of the games that are leaving the service, the ones of note include the following.

  • Marvel’s Spider-Man
  • Resident Evil
  • NBA 2K Playgrounds 2

Once these games leave the Catalog, you will need to purchase them normally in order to keep playing them. If you’ve got any of them on your to-do list (like the critically-acclaimed Spider-Man, for instance), you’d better get to playing them now!
