For those of you who are too young to remember, Mega Man Battle Network was a spin-off of the Mega Man franchise that released a variety of games from 2001 to 2009. While that particular incarnation of Mega Man doesn’t show up much anymore, the games still hold an important place in the hearts of many. If you’d like to connect with that love, whether again or for the first time, you’ll be interested in the Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection, plus its preorder bonuses. Here are the Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection preorder bonuses.

Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection Preorder Bonus

Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection releases this Friday, April 14, on the following platforms:

  • PlayStation 4
  • Nintendo Switch
  • PC via Steam

If you’re planning on getting the collection anyway, there is still time to preorder and get the preorder bonuses, though if you choose not to, you won’t be missing out on any major game content. The preorder bonuses are less for changing the game in any way, and more just a fun little present for those who have been waiting a long time to play these classic games again.

Preordering Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection gets you two major goodies. Firstly, you get a pair of special skins for MegaMan.exe, displayable on the collection’s game launchers. For the volume 1 game launcher, you can use the green, pixelated Hub-Style MegaMan.exe, while for the volume 2 game launcher, you can use the darkened, red-eyed Dark MegaMan.exe. These skins are just cosmetic; they don’t change how MegaMan interacts with you or how he looks in-game.

Secondly, preordering will get you a set of rearranged BGM tracks that you can listen to in the collection’s music player. There are two tracks for each volume, and they are as follows:

  • Hometown (Pop Rock Version)
  • Shooting Enemy (Dance Version)
  • Central Town (Kawaii Future Bass Version)
  • Liberation Mission (Piano Version)

The important thing to note is that, if you want these preorder bonuses, you must purchase the two-volume bundle. The individual volumes of the collection cannot be preordered, and are only available for individual purchase on the day of launch. You need to buy both volumes together to qualify for the preorder bonuses.

As a reminder, volume 1 of the Legacy Collection features the following games:

  • Mega Man Battle Network
  • Mega Man Battle Network 2
  • Mega Man Battle Network 3 Blue
  • Mega Man Battle Network 3 White

Volume 2, meanwhile, features the following games:

  • Mega Man Battle Network 4 Red Sun
  • Mega Man Battle Network 4 Blue Moon
  • Mega Man Battle Network 5 Team Protoman
  • Mega Man Battle Network 5 Team Colonel
  • Mega Man Battle Network 6 Cybeast Gregar
  • Mega Man Battle Network 6 Cybeast Falzar

Whether you preorder or not, this is a series of games that deserves to be experienced, both for their historical value and to remind Capcom that we would really like some more of them.
