‘Fortnite’ fans have been teased by Epic Games over the possibly of certain skins receiving winter variants. It doesn’t come as too much of a surprise, given the implementation of wraps for in-game weapons and vehicles, that we’d be getting more customization options for our avatars.
Data miners didn’t want to wait until the official reveal, so they decided to start digging in the game files, and they’ve come up with some gold.
The files they dug up revealed that there are winter variants of the Love Ranger, Raven, and Red Knight skins in the game files. There are no images (yet) for the winter variants of the Raven and Red Knight skins, but the good folks over at Skin Tracker have revealed a 3D rendering of what is being called the Winter Ranger skin.
The Love Ranger’s sash remains, but the pink pants have been changed to an icy blue. The Winter Ranger sports winter gloves and boots in a mixture of black, white and grey. The torso is now black with ice blue glyph looking markings, with a dash of white at the neck line.
Epic Games can of course ax these designs at any time, but there’s no real reason for them to do so. This data mine begs the question as to whether or not there will be more seasonal variants of popular skins in the future. How about a Summer variant with a luau, straw hat, and a coconut drink attached onto the sash? There’s a lot of room to work with, and Epic Games really has the chance to let their creativity run wild.
