Google Maps Helps You Avoid Most Congested Areas this Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a wonderful holiday. Turkey with gravy (or ham if turkey isn’t your thing), cranberry sauce, and stuffing, all topped off with desserts like pumpkin pie and apple pie a la mode. Thanksgiving is a time to spend with friends and family, not spend by yourself stuck on the freeway. Nobody enjoys the traffic rush that inevitably comes during Turkey Day, and luckily for us, Google has decided to throw us a bone to help us out.

Google has thoroughly analyzed data from their Google Maps web-mapping service, and through this analysis, has developed a tool that will help you know when’s the best time to head out on the roads with the lowest chance possible of driving yourself insane. This tool isn’t just for helping to determine when you should head home or to a friend or family member’s house. It includes what time is best to go to places such as the grocery store, parades, Chinese restaurants, movie theaters, electronics stores and more. It also gives you information on when these locations will be most crowded and when they’ll be on the more deserted side.

This tool also maps out the best routes to take, and to what places for both the day before Thanksgiving, and Black Friday as well, so it’s a three for one headache-saving deal. This might arguably be most useful for Black Friday rather not Thanksgiving, since for Turkey Day, being late will just mean someone ate all the cranberry sauce. For Black Friday, being too late could be the difference between getting a good deal on a consumer product, or watch in dismay as your eyes land on an empty display case. Traffic patterns will of course vary depending on your location, and so be sure to fill in the parameters properly in order to get accurate information.
