One of the major highlights of the hit anime and manga series Attack on Titan is the Omni-Directional Movement Gear, or ODM Gear for short, which allows soldiers to grapple onto buildings and swing at high speed to strike at the giant Titans’ vital points. The idea of swinging around like a gas-powered Spider-Man is obviously fun, which is why it’s not especially surprising that the concept has found its way to Fortnite. Here’s where to find ODM Gear in Fortnite.
Where to Find ODM Gear in Fortnite
As of Fortnite’s latest update, Attack on Titan-themed content has made its way to the Island. This includes classic Attack on Titan characters like Eren Jaeger, Mikasa Ackermann, and Captain Levi, as well as new gear skins emblazoned with the Scout Regiment emblem. Of course, it wouldn’t be an Attack on Titan update without the signature weapon of the series, the ODM Gear, which you can obtain and use for yourself.
ODM Gear has been added to the regular item rotation in Fortnite. You can find a set of it lying on the ground, or loot it from regular chests. However, your best chance for obtaining a set of ODM Gear is to find and open a special Scout Regiment Footlocker. These have a chance to appear in place of regular chests and are distinctive thanks to the Scout Regiment emblem on them. If you find a set of ODM Gear, you can equip and use it right away.
How to Use ODM Gear

If you watched or read Attack on Titan, you probably already know how the ODM Gear works, though even if you haven’t, it’s very similar to other grappling items that have appeared in Fortnite like the Grapple Glove or the Web Slingers. You can target stationary points like buildings or cliffs, launch the anchors into them, and swing forward. However, in addition to the grapple anchors, you can also use the gas booster on the back to launch yourself high into the air or propel yourself forward in the middle of a swing, as well as the included swords to slash at anything you happen to pass by.
With ODM Gear in the mix, movement and combat in Fortnite is likely going to get even more wild and chaotic than usual. Take some motion sickness pills and put on your booming orchestral music, it’s time for some high-speed, Titan-slaying action!
