Spring has sprung and the flowers are blooming. It’s a season of change and renewal, which means it’s a great time for your favorite online games to get some new features. Overwatch 2’s fourth season is right around the corner, and the game is planning some big events, new cosmetics, and fun activities. So, when does Overwatch 2 season 4 come out?

When Does Overwatch 2 Season 4 Come Out?

Overwatch 2 season 4 is set to launch this week on Tuesday, April 11, at 2:00 PM Eastern time. Of course, don’t expect to get in and play at 2:00 PM on the dot, because the game will need to update with a chunky 38 GB patch. This is also assuming there are no serverside issues which, given the sheer volume of people who will probably be logging in, there probably will be. Basically, just keep your expectations on what time you can start playing realistic.

The big draw for Season 4 is the newest Hero, Lifeweaver, a Support character who can lob healing spheres at his teammates, pelt foes with sharp thorns, create rising platforms to aid his team and disorient foes, and for his Ultimate, create a gigantic tree that heals all allies around it. However, while he’s the main highlight of the new season, Lifeweaver isn’t the only thing to look forward to.

The new season will bring with it new cosmetic items in the Battle Pass, the highlight of which is Mythic-grade Galactic Emperor skin for Sigma at the end. The in-game shop will have some fancy new cosmetics as well, including Omnic skins for Junkrat and Roadhog, among other highlights. There will also be a special Lifeweaver Challenge at the season’s start which you can complete to unlock a free Lifeweaver skin.

Besides all the immediate stuff, there will also be a variety of events, challenges, and highlights throughout the season. The stuff we know about so far is:

  • Talantis, April 25 to May 1: A community-made map that will be playable on official playlists for a limited time
  • Starwatch Event, May 9 to May 22: A space-themed event in which two factions battle for superiority
  • Symmetra Challenge May 23 to May 29: A series of Symmetra-themed challenges you can complete to unlock a special skin
  • Pride Month, June 1 to June 30: Celebrity diversity with rainbow flags and limited-edition cosmetics

The new season will also bring various tweaks and bugfixes, including buffs and debuffs for Heroes and changes to maps. Interestingly, the devs will apparently be doing away with map pools starting this season, allowing players to play on all of the game’s maps instead of limiting them to a seasonal rotation.

Once again, this is all set to kick off starting tomorrow, April 11. Put on your sunglasses and take your allergy pills, because this spring is gonna be a fiery one for Overwatch 2.
