Verizon Enabling Dual-SIM card Functionality for New iPhones

Verizon iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR users will finally be able to use dual-SIM card functionality sometime in December.

After the iOS 12.1 update back in October, Apple’s latest iPhone models, the XS, XS Max, and XR were given dual-SIM card support. Dual-SIM card functionality allows users to use both a physical SIM card and an eSIM card simultaneously. This is very beneficial to users who like to keep business and personal matter separate, and for improving your phone’s overall coverage viability. The coverage of each wireless network varies, and some wireless networks provide significantly better coverage than another in the same area, and or provide coverage in a place where the other wireless networks don’t. This is especially useful for when traveling internationally. These would be the first iPhone models to offer up dual-SIM support, so iPhone users were very excited about it.

The plan was for Verizon iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR users to be able to use dual-SIM cards back in October, but their devices apparently didn’t get the mobile. Users who attempted to utilize an e-SIM card were knocked from LTE coverage down to the downright ancient 2G network upon doing so, and as such, dual-SIM was out of the question for the time being. Many areas covered by Verizon, are only accessible via LTE, so this was a huge problem.

Insider sources have revealed Verizon will be rolling out dual-SIM functionality for the XS, XS Max, and XR sometime in early December. This is great news for anyone with one of these three models, and for anyone traveling during the Christmas holidays.
