Nintendo Is Deleting Your Save Files

Shortly after announcing Nintendo’s new online subscription service, it came to our attention that there was a flaw in the system. While the online service will provide a lot of great features, such as online play, special deals and gifts, and more… there was one announcement about the cloud storage system that got players worried.

According to the Nintendo UK website, all cloud storage saves of any of your Switch games will be lost if your membership were to expire. While it might sound logical, its a huge threat to gamers everywhere. Since you can pay monthly or yearly for the service, that means that one missed payment will lose all of your progress of games.

Now, while the most organized of gamers will not have an issue with this, it could be a potential deterrent from the system’s growing fan base. The good news is, however, you will be able to upload storage saves back onto the cloud if you accidentally miss that deadline. And while this seems like a pro, not all games will support the cloud save feature, such as Pokémon Let’s Go and Splatoon 2.
