Capcom Reveals ‘Street Fighter 6’ and ‘Capcom Fighting Collection’

There’s a whole lotta punching coming up.

Last week, video game publisher and developer Capcom launched a mysterious site with a nondescript countdown. This countdown was set to expire around the end of the Capcom Pro Tour 2021 fighting game tournament, which made it seem very likely that whatever they were counting down to would be fighting game-related. As it turns out, that theory was right on the money, in more ways than one.

The primary revelation of the countdown is none other than Street Fighter 6, a new installment in Capcom’s flagship fighting game series. Not much information was actually divulged in the reveal beyond the presence of Ryu and Luke. Capcom is planning to reveal more about the game this coming summer, though according to rumors, they’re working to ensure Street Fighter 6 has a better initial launch than Street Fighter V did.

In addition to the big headline, Capcom also announced the Capcom Fighting Collection, a collection of 10 of their arcade-era fighting games. These games will be mostly faithful to their original releases, save for some quality-of-life tweaks like training modes and adjustable difficulty, as well as full online play with rollback netcode. The 10 games included in the collection are:

  • Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors
  • Night Warriors: Darkstalkers’ Revenge
  • Vampire Hunter 2: Darkstalkers’ Revenge
  • Vampire Savior: The Lord of Vampire
  • Vampire Savior 2: The Lord of Vampire
  • Hyper Street Fighter II: The Anniversary Edition
  • Red Earth
  • Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix
  • Cyberbots: Full Metal Madness
  • Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo

Capcom Fighting Collection will release on June 24th for PS4/PS5, Xbox One/Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
