Tech Out This Benz

The Mercedes G-Class has long been synonymous with opulence and power, particularly in its more recent performance-oriented AMG versions. Clearly, however, even the G can be too mundane for some customers. Inkas Armored, a Canadian company specializing in armored custom vehicles, has created a one-of-a-kind G63 limousine that can get you there in style, even if “there” is a very dangerous place.
Based off of a 2018 Mercedes-AMG G63, the stretch limo features reclining captain’s chairs, hardwood flooring, a bar and ultra high resolution television. Additionally, it’s been completely redone for focus on safety, and is now capable of withstanding shots from 7.62mm ammunition – and even grenade explosions under the vehicle. The armored vehicle weighs almost 2,000 pounds more than its base counterpart, but the manufacturer planned for it. The suspension and brake systems were beefed up to ensure proper handling, and the stock twin-turbo V8’s 536 horsepower should still be plenty to move this beast around any type of road.

Extra technology includes satellite positioning systems that can alert the owner’s security team in case of an attack, as well as monitoring systems featuring infrared cameras. Optional features range from heavy duty wheels to lights and sirens (surely you want those, right?). Luxury and peace of mind do come at a price, however: the Inkas G63 Limo sells for around $1.2 million, or about ten times as much as a base G63 AMG purchased from Mercedes. Should you want one, Inkas Armored manufactures them on-demand, and delivers worldwide.
