Sony’s Wireless Headphones Speaks Volumes

If you haven’t checked out our review of Ultimate Ears’ Megablast yet, I highly recommend doing so before reading the rest of this article. It’s always a race between competitors to develop the best in sound-producing hardware, and today, we’re diving deep into the rivalry between Sony and Bose. And while many people might not think the two are comparable, they indeed are. In fact, while most people continue to view Bose as one of the leaders in creating comfortable, noise-cancelling headphones, it turns out that Sony has been able to consistently match them in years prior, if not exceed their performance and sales.

While the Megablast is great for outdoor events and projecting via BlueTooth speaker, Bose and Sony are looking at ways in which they can expand the music market with other developments in speakers. In terms of having “the best headphones,” Gizmodo reports that Sony’s WH-1000XM3 matches the standards of Bose’s Quiet Comfort 35 II wireless headset. Currently, Ultimate Ears does not provide a headphone that matches up, but Sony may be looking to corner that market indefinitely. While the tech giants will always be fighting for the top spot, Sony looks like its stealing the spotlight in almost every category.
