Google is two days away from unveiling its next generation of Pixel smartphones.
The Pixel 11 series will officially take the stage on August 12 at Google’s Made by Google event in New York City. The company has already confirmed the Pixel 11 name and is using its Google Store to promote the upcoming launch.
Google’s event will begin at 6 p.m. ET on August 12. You can watch the event live through Google’s official channels.
Official specifications or pricing for the new phones haven’t been published yet, but the teaser campaign has revealed one notable hardware feature ahead of the event.
Google’s first official Pixel 11 teaser showed a circular, color-changing light integrated into the phone’s camera bar. The feature is being called Pixel Glow.
The light appears in the area used for the rear camera flash and can emit different colors. Google has not yet explained exactly what the feature will do, so details about its notification and software functions remain unconfirmed.
Pixel Glow had previously appeared in reports based on Android 17 testing, but Google’s teaser provides the first official look at the hardware implementation.
Google has confirmed that Pixel 11 pre-orders will begin on August 12, immediately after the launch event. The Google Store is already displaying a dedicated Pixel 11 page with the pre-order date.
Google’s Indian store is also promoting the Pixel 11 series and says pre-orders will begin on August 12. It is offering an additional promotion for customers who buy eligible Pixel Buds or Pixel Watch products with a new Pixel 11 series phone.
The series is widely expected to include the standard Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL. A new Pixel 11 Pro Fold has also been widely reported, although Google has not officially confirmed the full lineup ahead of the event.
Google is also teasing the Pixel Watch 5 on its official Pixel 11 page, suggesting that the smartwatch will be another major product at the event.
The biggest expected hardware upgrade is Google’s next Tensor processor. Multiple reports point to the Tensor G6, manufactured using TSMC’s 2nm process, which would represent another step forward from the 3nm Tensor G5 used in the Pixel 10 series. These specifications remain leaks until Google confirms them at the event.
The Pixel 11 series is not expected to redesign Google’s camera system completely, but several upgrades have been reported.
The base Pixel 11 is rumored to use a new 50-megapixel main camera. There are also reports that Google could remove the dedicated telephoto camera from the standard Pixel 11, leaving that feature for the higher-end models.
The Pro models are expected to receive more capable camera hardware, although the exact sensor configurations remain unconfirmed.
Display improvements are also expected. Reports suggest Google could use newer M16 OLED display material, potentially improving brightness, color reproduction, and efficiency. The Pixel 11 is expected to retain a 6.3-inch display, but Google has not confirmed these specifications.
Pricing is one of the biggest unanswered questions before the launch.
Recent leaks point to a starting price of around $899 for the Pixel 11 with 256GB of storage. That would be a $100 increase over the Pixel 10’s $799 starting price, although the new model would reportedly start with twice the storage.
Reports also point to price increases for the Pro models. Google has reportedly acknowledged that higher memory costs are contributing to increased Pixel pricing, while promising trade-in offers and other promotions to offset some of the increase.
The rumored US starting prices are:
- Pixel 11: $899
- Pixel 11 Pro: $1,099
- Pixel 11 Pro XL: $1,299
- Pixel 11 Pro Fold: $1,899
These figures should still be treated as leaked prices until Google confirms them.
The reported move from 128GB to 256GB as the entry-level storage option could make the higher starting price easier to justify. Reports also suggest that 512GB storage could be available on some models.
Google has not announced official US or international pricing yet, so these figures should not be treated as final.
There is now very little time left before the leaks can be separated from confirmed information.
Google has officially confirmed the Pixel 11 name, the August 12 launch event, the New York City location and the start of pre-orders. It has also teased Pixel Glow and the Pixel Watch 5.
Everything else, including the Tensor G6 specifications, camera hardware, display technology, final prices and the exact Pixel 11 lineup, still needs to be confirmed by Google.
