Samsung Announces M8 Smart Monitors

It’s a monitor and smart TV, all in one.

Back in 2020, Samsung launched the first of their smart monitor series. These monitors existed as a modern marriage of high-resolution PC displays and smart TV functionality, with streaming apps built in without the need for an external device. Today, Samsung announced the latest iteration of these displays, with new color options and some nifty tweaks.

The new line, collectively known as the Smart Monitor M8, features a discrete 11.4mm-thick body with a 32-inch flat screen display. That display has a 16:9 aspect ratio capable of up to 3,840 x 2,160 Ultra HD resolution, perfect for both work and entertainment. For new features, the M8 comes bundled with a special SlimFit Cam, a webcam with a magnetic mount that sticks cleanly to the top of the display without any wires tangling things up behind your desk. This camera is small, but powerful, packing face tracking and recognition, as well as auto zoom, making it great for Zoom meetings.

The M8 also comes in four soft and warm colors, guaranteed to match with any room. “We aspired to create a product capable of matching the lifestyles of all kinds of people and preferences,” Kyounghoon Kim, Samsung’s Executive Vice President and Head of Design Team and Visual Display Business, said in a press release. “The M8’s color palette composed of four different colors was inspired by the theme ‘Shades of Nature’. Gazing at the clear blue sky on a bright sunny day, recharging in the lush green forest, or finally bathing in the glow of a sunset,” he added.

No release date for the M8 is set yet, but pre-orders are already open.
