NASA Reveals Live Photos Of Hurricane Florence

Hurricane season is in full swing, and Florence looks to be the first named storm to be creating landfall with the continental United States. Aimed directly at the Carolina’s, NASA has been keeping a close eye on the storm’s progression, capturing some truly breathtaking footage of the storm from the International Space Station.

While the storm has just been downgraded from a Category 4 to a Category 3 hurricane, that doesn’t stop it from creating a path of destruction right up the coastal U.S. That is, if it doesn’t stall before reaching land. If it does, the storm will dump serious amounts of rain to the states affected. Three states have already had mandatory evacuations since Florence was first picked up on the radar.

The storm is set to make landfall later this week, most likely Friday, as it is currently 500 miles offshore. Make sure to watch the entire playlist above to get all the details from meteorologists across the U.S. Mother Nature can be a beautiful thing, but it can also be extremely dangerous; while it’s great to be able to observe and track the storm’s progress thanks to technology, that might not be enough to save us from what is shaping up to be one of the most costly storms to hit the States.
