Are You Ready for the $14,000 Gaming Chair?

Credit: Acer

Acer recently announced their new Predator Thronos Air gaming chair, and it will only run you about $14,000.

Last year, Acer debuted its gaming chair to the surprise of many. This year, they have done it once again, but for a third cheaper of last year’s model. What has changed to allow for such a large (relatively speaking) price drop?

One of the changes Acer made was replacing the automatic motorized monitor arm with a manually adjustable arm. Users have also lost the ability to tilt the angle of the entire chair. All the fancy technological advancements in the chair have been dropped so that the chair could drop to a reasonable $14,000 instead of last year’s $20,000.

The chair does not come fully equipped, however. It can mount three displays, which you will have to purchase yourself. The chair also comes with an adjustable keyboard and mouse tray, along with a footrest.

But one of the major upgrades that you can find on this new chair is the ability to receive a massage while playing. All you need to do is hit a button and two glowing blue orbs appear by your shoulders to help ease the stress of high-intensity gaming.

There are a few options that you can include to customize your chair. Users can add a seat stabilizer that will prevent the chair from shifting. You can also add a headset holder or a camera, and even a cup holder. It’s a pretty powerful chair that will certainly be a conversational piece in the room, if nothing else.
