J.J. Abrams Announces “Bad Robot Games”

J.J. Abrams, creator of hit television series such as Lost and Fringe as well as a major contributor to the Star Wars franchise has decided to team up with Chinese conglomerate Tencent in order to create a new video game studio: Bad Robot Games.

Tencent is known as a huge investor and backer for large gaming corporations such as Epic Games, creators of Fortnite, and they own Riot Games, who created League of Legends.

While no specific titles have been announced, the director, writer, and producer is planning on taking on the console, PC, and mobile markets when the company gets its footing. Abrams has previously been in the talks with Valve co-founder Gabe Newell for games and films, but no one knows what the future could hold for Bad Robot Games.

Abrams believes that his unique approach and passion for the video game industry will help co-developers accomplish their goals and, together, the studio can make a “meaningful impact” on both small and large scale projects.
