Two days ago, I shared a breakdown of all the announcements we were expecting to get prior to E3. Well, two of them have already been revealed. The first was the trailer for new Pokémon games announced for the Nintendo Switch, and now we have confirmation of a new Fallout game known as Fallout 76.
The new Bethesda game is still tightly under wraps, with more information being promised at E3. For now, what we do know is that it will not be the typical, single-player RPG formula that every Fallout game previous has followed.
Fallout 76 will be styled around an online survival RPG similar to the likes of DayZ but will still contain quests, base building, and other core mechanics. The feel of the game, however, will be extremely different than any of the other entries. Developers who reported anonymously confirmed that the company wanted to go in a new direction with something unexpected, and Bethesda incorporated their new Austin headquarters in the game’s development as well.
Bethesda’s E3 conference is set to be held on June 10th, where much more information will surely flood the vault.
