Part of me always feels a little bad about delegating cleaning tasks to robots. I guess it’s a good thing Roombas aren’t sentient, or they’d probably get pretty salty about what we have them do. Here’s a new robot that I’m especially glad isn’t sentient, because he literally lives in a toilet.
Altan Robotech released a new home robotic appliance. His name is Giddell, and he’s most at home in a toilet bowl. With a special mount, Giddell hangs out just above the bowl and scans the toilet’s shape and curvature. With a special telescopic brush, Giddell systematically cleans every nook and cranny of the bowl, the rim, and that little gross part under the rim. The mount keeps Giddell himself from actually touching the water or the bowl, but that arms gets everywhere it needs to, right down into the exit drain. Giddel is cordless and rechargable, and works with any store brand toilet cleaning liquids. The brushing procedure is very careful and methodical, so don’t worry about toilet water on the floor.
“With Giddel in a family’s home, people no longer have to do the mundane and disgusting task of cleaning a toilet bowl. Instead, they can focus on spending time with loved ones,” President of Altan Robotech Alfred D’Souza said in a press release. Giddell is currently available for purchase on Amazon and Newegg for $500. It may seem steep, but consider how much not having to clean the toilet yourself is worth to you.
