‘Overwatch’ Player Creatively Blocks Racist Messages

Hatred has no place in this stream.

A professional Overwatch player getting bombarded with racist messages during his Twitch stream found a creative way to block them from showing up on-screen to his online viewers.

Jong-ryeol “Saebyeolbe” Park, a member of the New York Excelsior team and a popular Tracer player, started receiving the abusive messages containing racist terms while he was playing the game. For some reason, the messages managed to get past Blizzard’s language filter. Due to the way the message notifications are set to show, the messages kept popping up on-screen, much to the chagrin and annoyance of Park.

Some of the viewers started asking Park to block or at least turn off the notifications for the messages, but since the player was currently in-game, he couldn’t tend to the problem immediately.

Using his quick thinking, Park instead found another way to at least shield everyone from seeing the racist messages. He clicked and dragged on his camera at the right side of the screen and pulled it to the middle part, adjusting it in a way that would hide the messages from showing.

Doing so effectively hid the racist messages from his audience, who immediately started praising him for his creativity. Park laughed before saying, “Don’t care about that, just watch my face!”

With this kind of brilliance, no wonder he’s one of the more popular Overwatch players out there!
