Call of Duty 2023 revealed to NBA players
Call of Duty fans eagerly awaiting details about the highly anticipated 2023 installment will have to exercise patience. However, if you happen to be an NBA player, you’re in luck. The players participating in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas have been granted exclusive access to a preview of Call of Duty 2023. The game is expected to be officially unveiled to the public within the next month or so.
This secretive unveiling strategy is not entirely unprecedented. Some players have taken to social media to share glimpses of the suite where the preview is taking place. Although these posts reveal little more than a basic logo, there are gaming stations set up in the room where players can enjoy a session of Call of Duty. Based on the images, it seems players have been primarily engaged with Warzone or Modern Warfare II.
Considering the franchise’s recent track record, it’s understandable if the excitement surrounding Call of Duty 2023 is tempered. Earlier this year, we reported that the game was rumored to be titled ‘Modern Warfare III.’ However, the Call of Duty series has faced challenges. While Modern Warfare II had its merits, it suffered from some rough edges and failed to maintain long-term popularity due to certain design choices, such as skill-based matchmaking (SBMM).

The release of Warzone 2.0 also encountered issues, leaving a significant portion of the community disillusioned. As for the 2021 release, Call of Duty: Vanguard, it’s best not to dwell on its reception.
