Moto Z3 Phone Review

If you’re loyal to Verizon as a mobile carrier, and don’t feel like jumping on the iPhone or Samsung bandwagon, there might be a new phone for you: the Moto Z3. Designed by Motorola, this smartphone is a sleek alternative if you’re looking for a change. It has a 6 inch full HD display and touch screen, but if you’re familiar with the Z family of phones from Motorola, everything about this product seems familiar. It uses the same Snapdragon processor as last year’s Moto Z2 Force, meaning you really aren’t “upgrading” to anything more powerful.

Gone are the days of Shattershield, the protective layering that gave the Z line of phones some extra ruggedness. Instead, Motorola has opted into the fragile, small cliché of what a smart phone is “supposed” to look and feel like. On the back of the phone you have dual 12 megapixel cameras, one for monochrome and one for RGB, but they both awkwardly jut out of the phone rather than stay slim and confined. The photo quality is definitely amped up from the Force, but not enough to warrant an upgrade unless taking pictures is what you’re interested in.

The battery lasts about a day at most, with only a 3,000 milliamp hour battery. Honestly, everything seems pretty much the same with the Z3. The only thing we can look forward to are the innovative mods Motorola prides itself on. Other than that, the phone serves no purpose but to be a new phone to keep the brand relevant. It does what a phone should do, and doesn’t push the boundaries of what a phone can do.
