I swear, every franchise is getting a Lego tie-in these days. Back in my day, we got a generic castle and a generic spaceship, and by gum, we liked it! Oh, and Bionicles. Those were neat.
Blizzard posted a brief clip to the Overwatch Twitter featuring an employee assembling a Tracer Lego minifig, which promptly comes to life and starts zipping around the table. Plastic representations of Tracer come to life weirdly frequently.
Meanwhile, an official Lego Overwatch teaser page was launched on Lego’s website. The page features a pile of Lego bananas, a jar of peanut butter, and the quote “Imagination is the Essence of Discovery,” all three of which are an obvious nod to everyone’s favorite hyper-intelligent gorilla, Winston.
These two moves were to promote the upcoming Lego Overwatch kits that were hinted at back in May. Still no release date, but if nothing else, it is a safe assumption that the kits will involve Tracer and Winston. Fingers crossed for a scale replica kit of D.Va’s MEKA.
