Last December, fans of video game classic character Sonic the Hedgehog were… interested, to say the least, to see the poster for the upcoming Sonic live-action film. Apart from some very well-toned legs and some vague outlines of his upper body though, it was pretty much impossible to guess what the live-action Sonic would look like.
Now, Sonic the Hedgehog’s full look has been revealed, thanks to Hamagami / Carroll Inc. who used the beloved character’s newest image for its Sonic style guide. The post says that it’s “a new modern take on the brand without abandoning its core essence,” while the branding deck showed several slides explaining this new take on Sonic. Whether it was planned or not, the branding deck revealed much more than was previously seen of our blue-furred friend.
According to the slides, the 2019 Sonic the Hedgehog will be “irreverent and sarcastic,” as well as “chill and likable.” The deck also contained slides showing Sonic in various actions, such as Sonic holding a ring, wagging a finger, and getting ready for a marathon, or knowing him, probably several marathons at once.
The live-action film will come to theaters later this year on November 9th, 2019.
