Boomsday Project’s Coolest New Cards

With Ben Brode leaving Blizzard to create his own company, I wanted to take this opportunity to see if Hearthstone will be able to continue to provide the crazy fun it has always promised with each expansion release. We are mere days away from The Boomsday Project being released, so here are all the cards I think that will define this expansion set.

Electra Stormsurge
3 Mana, 3/3
Battlecry: Your next spell this turn casts twice.

This shaman card is going to add to the Shudderwock madness by allowing for you to duplicate your next spell for such a small amount of mana AND get a 3/3 body on the board. Now that’s value.

Reckless Experimenter
4 mana, 4/6
Deathrattle visions you play cost (3) less, but die at the end of the turn

Deathrattle Priest is going to make a comeback with a ton of great new deathrattles being added in this expansion. This card is going to make it so you can play cards like Mechanical whelp and get a 3 mana 7/7 immediately.

Zerek’s Cloning Gallery
9 mana Spell
Summon a 1/1 copy of each minion in your deck

Okay, priests are going to be crazy. The return of Big Priest is going to make this card crazy, and I can’t wait to see the decks built around it.

Academic Espionage
4 mana Spell
Shuffle 10 cards from your opponent’s class into your deck. They cost (1).

Rogues are becoming more sneaky than ever. This time, they get 10 cards that each cost 1, and add more randomness to an already crazy class.

Juicy Psychmelon
4 mana Spell
Draw a 7,8,9, and 10-Cost minion from your deck.

Big druid is going to be insane too. You can now expend all your low cost, ramp cards and then immediately clog your hand up high-cost minions so you can curve out strong.

Luna’s Pocket Galaxy
7 mana Spell
Change the Cost of minions in your deck to (1).

While it might be too slow to ever see play, Mage is getting some good card draw with their class legendary which pairs really well with this card. We could see a mid-range aggressive mage archetype come into play.

There are so many other cards I want to feature, but we’ll have to wait and see how the meta game plays out to know which cards will truly reign king.
