Artificial Intelligence Takes Center Stage At CES 2019

We’ve been talking about the Consumer Electronics Show 2019 for more than a week and yet we still haven’t run out of amazing things to report.

One of the most amazing things that we had seen was the revelation of artificial intelligence technology, which took center stage at this year’s CES in Las Vegas. The show featured some high-tech gadgets and never-before-seen items that could very well be in your hands in the coming months.

President of the Consumer Technology Association, Gary Shapiro, believes that “the big thing is clearly artificial intelligence. AI pervades the show. We have a separate area. Almost every major company is showing AI and applications that are just truly jaw-dropping.”

China’s top electronics manufacturer, Hisense, was one of the tech companies that showcased its newest products at the event. “We’re focused really on delivering the best quality product,” said David Gold, Hisense USA’s vice-president of consumer electronics, proudly stated. “And we believe that we will do so regardless of one policy or another.”

Hisense showed off four new televisions during a special presentation at CES. Three of these were quantum dot-technology while one was the TriChroma laser TV. All four of these television models are embedded with an artificial intelligence chip, meant to completely revolutionize its user’s viewing experience.

“Our AI algorithms can basically detect what you’re watching and automatically improve the viewing experience,” Gold explained. “For sports, for example, it will detect that you are watching sports and improve the motion rate. It will make it smoother, versus a movie experience where the TV will detect the movie at 24 frames-per-second and then will make it a more surround-sound feeling. The colours are slightly more cinematic.”
