Gotham’s new protectors take flight in time for Halloween.

Back in 2020, Warner Bros. Interactive announced the newest game in the Batman: Arkham series, Gotham Knights. The game was revealed at the DC FanDome event and was slated for release in 2021, but due to some unspecified problems, the developers announce back in March of 2021 that the game would be delayed to 2022. Well, it’s 2022 now, and while they won’t be releasing by the end of this March, they will be releasing in time for Halloween.

Warner Bros. Interactive announced on the official Gotham Knights Twitter yesterday that the game is on track for a release on October 25, 2022. The game will be available on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.

Gotham Knights takes place after the last Batman: Arkham game, Arkham Knight. At the end of that game, Batman, whose identity as Bruce Wayne was revealed to the world, was presumed killed in a large explosion, leaving his four wards to take up the mantle and protect Gotham in his stead. Players will be able to play as Robin, Batgirl, Nightwing, and Red Hood as they patrol the open-world streets of Gotham, fight crime, and solve puzzles. Several classic members of Batman’s rogues gallery are slated to make returns, including The Penguin and Mr. Freeze.
