Lego Madmen Build A Bugatti Chiron

I’ve always been simultaneously awed and terrified of people who can be really creative with Legos. That kind of ingenuity is either going to save the world some day or blow it up. Though, with this latest creation, I’m leaning a little more towards the former.

For a display for the Formula F1 Grand Prix in Italy, a team of madmen assembled a 1:1 recreation of the Bugatti Chiron. Composed of over 1 million Lego Technic pieces, the toy car is quite an impressive sight. What makes it even more impressive, however, is that it’s fully functional. Well, “functional” in the sense that it moves and turns; it only goes up to about 12 miles per hour. Still, it’s an engineering feat in its own right, utilizing a special engine composed of a couple hundred-thousand Lego motors.

Now if we could just make those things in bulk and be content with never getting anywhere quickly again, we may have just solved the gas crisis.
