How Popular Is The NES Classic?

Nostalgia is a real thing for gamers. We crave going back in time to relive the classics that are embedded into our childhood brains. That explains why the NES Classic by Nintendo, the system that allows you play the 8-bit classics of times past, is currently outselling most current-generation consoles.

This machine is constantly flying on and off of shelves due to its popularity. Whenever is in stock, its most likely sold out in the next few days. And still, its outselling the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo’s own Nintendo Switch. Of course, that’s without factoring in the low price point of $59.99 for the system.

The NES Classic comes pre-installed with 30 games, including the likes of Super Mario Bros., Metroid, and Donkey Kong. Originally, it was said to be discontinued by Nintendo after its debut in 2016, yet every six months, Nintendo seems to produce more and more consoles since the demand for the system is sky high.

If the success of the NES Classic is any indication of Nintendo’s future endeavors, gamers like me would surely love to see a SNES, Nintendo 64, and GameCube re-release in the same fashion. Consumers would go crazy over having the original experience of these games in all their graphically misconfigured glory.
