The speakers
Apart from the display or TV, one other thing that makes the home theater system come to life is its speakers. The number of speaker that you buy entirely depends on what you want. However, if you are looking for a complete surround sound from DVDs then it is recommended that you do not go below 5-7 speakers. On the other hand, if you are a little low on budget and don’t have enough room for so many speakers, you can always buy 3-4 high quality ones which will give you the desired effect. Along with the speakers, you will also need a subwoofer which will provide you with the strong and powerful bass which is what gives the vibrating effect in action adventure movies. Once again, everything is dependent on you and your budget, so if you can’t buy a lot of speakers, just connect the usual stereo speakers and it will be a lot better than the TV’s sound.

If you have ever used a simple video player or DVD player with your television set, you know that the inputs and outputs decide the kind of signals that it receives from the device which it is connected to. There are many types and kinds of inputs and outputs but perhaps the best and most affordable is the S-video input which gives the viewer a chance to watch a cleaner and smoother picture as compared to the usual inputs.
