Apple Unveils New Mac Products

At a keynote presentation in Brooklyn on October 30th, 2018, Apple has officially revealed the next iterations of its Macbook, Mac Mini, and iPad tech lines. In typical Apple fashion, these new updates focus on being sleek and accessible while simultaneously increasing processing power.

The new iPad, the iPad Pro, is 5.9mm thinner than the previous model, and has phased out the Home button, requiring screen swipes instead. The screen has been made much wider, encompassing nearly the entire front of the device, and the edges have been smoothed and rounded. The redesigned MacBook Air is 25% lighter and composed almost entirely of recycled materials. They keyboard has become more responsive, though the Touchbar feature from previous models has sadly been removed. Touch control has not been completed omitted from the device however, is it now features Touch ID functionality.

The Mac Mini, a compact computer that hasn’t seen an update in four years, made a fresh appearance with a new quad-core processor (or an optional six-core), four USB-C Thunderbolt 3 ports and an HDMI port. Overall, Apple claims that the new Mini is five times faster than the previous model.
