What to Look For In a Tablet

If you are one of those people who have decided they wanted a tablet and went to the electronic store only to come home empty handed just because of the sheer variety that is available then do not worry because one of many. There are hundreds if not thousands of people who have wanted a tablet but didn’t know which one to buy and so they ended up buying nothing. The trick to buying any electronic item, whether a tablet, a laptop or even a washing machine, is to make a list of things that you need to decide on before you head out to buy it. The truth is that you should only go to a store once you have thoroughly researched and decided on the actual thing that you want. Because the fact is that many salesmen/women have been able to fool customers into buying the wrong and expensive tablet just because they hadn’t done enough research and didn’t exactly know what they were looking for. This has now changed because with this short yet descriptive guide will help you decide on which tablet you pick out. So, here are a couple of questions that you need to ask yourself.

What’s the budget?
The very first question that you cannot avoid asking is that of the budget. If you have decided to buy a tablet then you must have some amount saved up and the kind of tab you end up with depends a lot on that. If you have a chunky amount have been saving up for months then you could go for the iPad. On the other hand, if you do have some saved up but not so much then you could always go for an Android enabled device.

What’s the purpose?
Next, ask yourself why you need the tablet? Is it just for fun and entertainment usage or do you need it for corporate or business purposes? You must remember that even though you may not notice while buying, there is a lot of difference between a usual tablet and one which has been specially developed for business users.

What’s the size?
Tablets come in different sizes now days. A traditional tablet is around 10-13 in size but you can also find smaller hand fitting tablets such as the Nexus 7 or iPad mini. Once again, it all depends on what you need from your tablet and how you would like to handle it.

What’s the Platform/OS?
Perhaps the biggest question of them all is the operating system that you would prefer. Apart from Apple, almost every company uses Android and so you need to decide which operating system you are more comfortable with. This is extremely important because unlike laptops and computers, you cannot install another OS if you don’t like the one you currently have.

What’s the features list?
As I said, you need to have a list of the features that you need in your tab. Do you need a camera, a WIFI, or a stylus? The list of features available for a tablet user is endless and you can only make the right decision if you do the needed research.
