Am I the only one who’s still a little mad that Coachella got stymied by COVID the year Hatsune Miku was in the lineup? It was such a cool moment, and it just never got to happen. Well, thankfully, the world is a bit more stable nowadays, and Coachella can run again. And hey, if we can’t have a virtual performer at a real Coachella, how about a virtual Coachella in a virtual world? Here are the details on the Fortnite Coachella 2023 event.

Fortnite Coachella Event Details

Fresh off its big Attack on Titan crossover, Fortnite, the game that truly never stops, has announced another major crossover event for the remainder of April. To coincide with this year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, Epic Games has created a special Coachella tie-in event and island within Fortnite, featuring festival-themed unlocks, quests, activities, and of course, all the music you could want.

Starting today, April 14, and until April 28, you can visit the colorful Coachella Island in Fortnite via Discover mode. You can also jump right to the Island using the Island Code 5449-4207-1280. Before you do, though, you should swing by the Fortnite Coachella website and log in with your Epic Games account to participate in the special Fortnite x Coachella challenge. This challenge will take you across the Battle Royale and Zero Build playlists to accomplish a variety of objectives and unlock a special loading screen.

Coachella Island Activities and Items

On Coachella Island, you’ll find lots of activities you can take part in either alone or with friends, from platforming challenges to dance parties, all backed by the jammin’ tunes of Coachella performer Porter Robinson. If you need more of an incentive to join the fun, the Coachella Island event features a gaggle of limited-time quests you can complete for XP and special items. The quests are broken up into Week 1, starting April 14, and Week 2, starting April 21, with both Weeks’ quests being available until the event’s end on April 28.

The Week 1 quests are as follows:

  • Soar in the Sky Stream at Coachella Island
  • Hop on any Jump Pad at Coachella Island
  • Collect coins scattered around Coachella Island
  • Collect hidden music notes you encounter in the Mirage Speedrun at Coachella Island

The Week 2 quests are as follows:

  • Launch Fireworks at Coachella Island
  • Use any Spray at Coachella Island

Completing these quests will net you the following special items. Note that the first three items can be obtained by completing either quest set, while the last one can only be obtained from the Week 2 quest set:

  • Hi-Fi Cacti Spray
  • Look At The Sky Lobby Track
  • Cact-eye Emoticon
  • Coachella Sunset Spray

If you’re having fun during the event, make sure to take lots of screenshots and share them on Twitter with the #Fortography hashtag or on r/FortNiteBR with the “Fortography” post flair. If you take some really great pics, they may be featured in the Fortography Art Park on Coachella Island starting April 21.

Finally, a new array of Coachella items is being added to the Item Shop for the event. The cool thing about the new outfit sets is that they have special alt Styles that will react to the music of Coachella Island in real time. There is also a new loadout wrap with the same effect. Additionally, the items from the last Fortnite and Coachella crossover have returned to the shop for a limited time.

The new items in the shop are:

  • Sunset Alto Outfit Set
    • Sunset Swirl Back Bling
    • Crystalline Cactus Pickaxe
    • Aurora Visualizer Alt Style
  • Desert Dawn Outfit Set
    • Airflow Vibes Back Bling
    • Electropalm Staff Pickaxe
    • Aurora Visualizer Alt Style
  • Desert Breeze Loadout Wrap
  • Burna Boy Slide Stride Emote
  • Bad Bunny Ask Me Emote

The festivities begin today at 3:00 PM Eastern Time, so throw on your coolest pair of shades, rub on that sunscreen, and get ready for the spiciest music festival the Fortnite world has ever seen!
