Nintendo Teases Switch Surprises for 2019

Given the ever increasing popularity of the Switch, some consumers might be worried about it being sold out this holiday season, especially with Black Friday and Cyber Monday around the corner. But in a recent interview, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime assured fans that the Nintendo Switch will be available in abundance this holiday season. So regardless of whether you pick one up on Black Friday, or decide to do a ‘Jingle All The Way’ and wait until the last minute, the Nintendo Switch shouldn’t be hard to find.

Fils-Aime also discussed his excitement for the holiday season, stating that it would be a very successful one for Nintendo, what with ‘Super Mario Party,’ ‘Let’s Go Pikachu/Eevee,’ and ‘Super Smash Bros.’ being hot sellers this holiday season. In fact, there have been some reports claiming that pre-order sales for the ‘Let’s Go’ Pokemon games are some of the highest figures that the Nintendo Switch has ever seen.

This information directly contradicts statistics dating back to August, as ‘Let’s Go’ pre-orders were shockingly low, and were steadily dropping, not rising. It is very much possible that since then, the figures have made a ‘Rocky’ style comeback, but we will have to wait and see.

Fils-Aime went on to talk about the exciting surprises that Nintendo has planned for the Switch in the first quarter of 2019. While he did not disclose any exact details as to what those surprises are, the tease was enough to excite fans. Come this holiday season, as the chestnuts roast on an open fire, Nintendo will be making it easy for a virtual Pikachu to be nipping at your toes.
