Valve will give away Steam Decks to users watching the show on Steam.
Next Thursday, December 8, The Game Awards are airing once again. As always, the event will see awards given out for excellence in a variety of gaming categories, as well as new world premiere trailers. The event will be streamed on most video and social media platforms like YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, and more, but Valve is looking to get eyes on Steam for the show with a particular promotion.
Valve announced this week that they’ll be holding a giveaway concurrently with the Game Awards on December 8. Anyone who enters to win, then watches the livestream of the event on Steam, will be eligible to win a free 512 GB model Steam Deck console. According to Valve, a new winner will be chosen every single minute of the show. As the show is usually at least a few hours long, that means there will likely be over 100 winners (though that’s still versus an estimated viewership of several million).

To enter to win, you need to have a Steam account in good standing (no bans, no warnings, etc.), you need to have made at least one purchase on Steam between November 2021 and November 2022, and you must live in the US, Canada, UK, or the EU. While the Game Awards are running, you can tune in on Steam’s video streaming platform and watch the chat, where new winners will be drawn at random and announced in the live chat.
