The game’s creative director, Bryan Intihar, recently took the stage at the Summer Game Fest to share some exciting details about the upcoming Insomniac game.
Intihar expressed the team’s desire to create an original story for Spider-Man 2, ensuring that it doesn’t just retell the same old Venom narrative. While the appearance of Peter in the symbiote suit hinted at Venom’s involvement, actual concept art showcased Peter and Miles teaming up to battle a full-fledged Venom. However, Intihar clarified that this wouldn’t be Eddie Brock donning the suit. Instead, the studio aims to present a fresh and unexpected storyline for fans to enjoy.
One notable revelation is that the city in Spider-Man 2 has doubled in size, promising players a larger and more immersive open-world experience. The expansion of the cityscape will undoubtedly provide players with new challenges and opportunities to explore the vibrant and dynamic world of Spider-Man.
In addition to the game details, the PlayStation Blog announced exciting preorder bonuses and collector’s editions. Players who choose to preorder the game will receive the Arachknight suit for Peter and the Shadow-Spider suit for Miles. For those who opt for the Digital Deluxe edition, an impressive 10 additional suits for both Spider-Man characters will be included.
