Microsoft has revealed a new accessory for Xbox One gamers, among other exciting accessories to spice up your gaming lifestyle.
Dubbed ‘Sport Red’ for its vibrant red color, the new special edition wireless controller was inspired by “the world of activewear and sports lifestyle.” It’s the second special edition controller in the ‘Sport’ series, the first one being Sport White released on July 31, 2018. Sport Red has metallic accents, such as red and silver accents on the front part of the controller and a d-pad colored metallic red. On top of this, the Sport Red controller has a rubberized diamond grip for additional comfort during long gaming sessions.
Like other wireless controllers, the Sport Red controller has a 3.5mm headphone jack that can also be connected to any Windows 10 device using Bluetooth if you’d like to use your controller for PC gaming. It’s also fully customizable on the Xbox Accessories App. Also, the Sport Red controller comes with a free 14-day trial membership for both Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass, at least in some regions.
Another officially-licensed accessory that gamers can add to their consoles is the Sport Red Special Edition Xbox Pro Charging Stand, which includes a battery cover, rechargeable battery, and a power cord that reaches up to 6 feet. The charging stand can be used with all Xbox Wireless Controllers, not just the Sport Red Special Editions. It will start shipping out on May 1 at a retail price of $49.99.
The new wireless controller was unveiled on the company’s Twitter page and will reportedly retail for $69.99 starting on March 5, 2019.
