You know they’re confident in their product when they don’t even need to put their own name on it anymore.
Originally released in November 2018, Google’s Home Hub attracted many people with its convenience and ease of use. But according to speculations on various news and tech sites, Google may be rebranding the smart display as ‘Google Nest Hub.’ The speculation comes from leaks of the next Google smart display, the much larger ‘Nest Home Max,’ which will be released alongside Google’s newest smartphones, the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL.
According to Digital Trends, rebranding the product line as ‘Nest’ and even dropping ‘Google’ from its name could “underscore the smart screen’s potential for managing smart home products such as Nest video doorbells, security cameras, and smart thermostats.”
As for the upcoming Nest Home Max, reports are saying that it will be a 10-inch smart display, as opposed to the current Google Home Hub’s 7 inches. And while the current Hub has no camera, DT is hoping that the bigger Nest Home Max will be equipped with the Nest security camera.
9to5Mac predicts a May 7 release date for both the Nest Home Max and Pixel 3a.
