The next generation of little thingies in your ears.
Apple has released its second generation AirPods, called the AirPods 2, and they’ve been upgraded in more ways than one.
Although they don’t look any different from the previous generation design-wise, the new AirPods are definitely faster, more helpful, and overall better than ever before.
Replacing the old W1 chip is a new H1 chip that will reportedly bring about improvements in connectivity, such as the ability to switch between various devices while listening to music two times faster. The H1 chip also supports Bluetooth 5.0, which will supposedly bring a better range of connectivity to the AirPods 2.
The new AirPods will also come with an optional wireless charging case that also allows Qi-based wireless charging. It still offers up to five hours of battery life when listening to music, and three hours when in a call. Meanwhile, the case provides another 24 hours of battery life to your AirPods 2.
Pricing starts at $159 for the AirPods themselves if you’re opting to go without the charging case, or $199 if the charging case is included.
