Apple Offers a separate USB-C Case for AirPods Pro 2, now with dust and splash resistance.

Responding to customer demand, Apple has announced the availability of the USB-C Charging Case for AirPods Pro 2 as a standalone accessory. Previously exclusive to AirPods Pro 2 with MagSafe Charging Case (USB‑C), the USB-C charging case is now open for purchase separately at a price of $99.

Released earlier this year, the slightly updated AirPods Pro 2 with MagSafe Charging Case (USB‑C) introduced a more streamlined charging experience. Until now, users who wanted the USB-C case had to purchase the specific AirPods Pro 2 model originally.

Apple has lifted this restriction, allowing users the flexibility to switch to the USB-C charging case, whether for compatibility with the new iPhone 15 models or as a replacement for a lost or damaged Lightning-equipped case.

Notably, the newly available USB-C charging case boasts an IP54 rating, signifying its resistance to dust and splashes. This enhancement in durability distinguishes it from the Lightning version, which lacks water- or dust-resistance features.

For those looking to consolidate charging cables and streamline their tech accessories, the USB-C charging case provides a seamless solution. Whether motivated by the convenience of a single cable for both iPhone 15 and AirPods Pro 2 or transitioning from a lost Lightning case, Apple aims to cater to diverse user needs.

While the upgraded AirPods Pro 2 charging case is available for purchase immediately, customers are advised that due to high demand, shipping dates have been extended to December 26-29. Although it may not arrive in time for Christmas, customers can anticipate receiving their orders before the New Year.
