As of May 5th, there is a rocket on its way to planet Mars. NASA launched its InSight Explorer Saturday at 4:05am from the Vanderberg Air Force Base in California. The objective of this exploration is to study “Mars-quakes.” By studying seismic waves, scientists can further learn about how rocky planets are formed. Scientists are also planning to locate underground water where life could potentially be found. The InSight Explorer will travel 300 million miles on its journey and is projected to reach Mars by late November. The rocket will operate for two years.
