Do you know what’s really cool about humanity? It’s our ability to view problems from multiple angles. Deductive reasoning, in concise terms. If two dudes are smacking their heads against a wall, trying to get past it, sooner or later, one of them will say “why don’t we just open this door?” That sounds silly, but that’s innovation in broad terms. Looking at a problem from an angle that was not previously considered.
Innovation and deduction is how we learn and grow. Our willingness to try new things even with no empirical data is what gave us so many of the wonders we have today. If humans lacked the ability to innovate, those two dudes would just keep banging their heads against the wall forever. They wouldn’t get anywhere and they wouldn’t change, save perhaps for notably flatter heads.
As life throws new and complicated challenges at us, we need to be able to think and grow in response. The future is always around the corner, but with our smarts, we’ll be ready for it.
