Home Depot is redefining the term DIY now that MakerBot printers and scanners are available in some retail locations.
For those with ambitions of 3D-printing utensils, figurines or other objects for the home, Home Depot may be your next stop. In a move that could launch 3D printing into the mainstream, Home Depot announced on Monday it will be selling 3D printers from MakerBot at various stores as part of a national pilot program.
MakerBot devices are hitting 12 Home Depot stores in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York and Chicago, marking the first time the company will sell 3D printers at its locations.
