Skype Now Offers Screen-Sharing To iOS And Android

It’s like calling people without calling people.

As one of the most popular mobile and desktop apps for video calls and chats, Skype is always striving to innovate and improve their existing services. In line with this, the company has just announced its latest feature on mobile: screen-sharing.

The feature is actually not new to Skype, as it already had screen-sharing in its desktop app before. However, this is the first time that it’s ever going to get released on mobile, which makes Skype an even better choice for work-related calls now.

Through this new feature, both Android and iOS users can now share their phone’s screen while they’re on the same call. This allows co-workers to share important things like PowerPoint presentations or reports.

Then again, it can also be used for less serious things. As TechCrunch wrote in its article, using the feature could be helpful in situations such as “[when you’re] swiping through a dating app while a friend gives their feedback, or for online shopping alongside a friend. More practically, it could be used to give remote tech help, like when your dad can’t find a setting on his iPhone (true story).”

To get this feature, simply update your Skype app and then tap on the “…” which stands for “more” on the app menu. You’ll see the screen-sharing option here, as well as the new call recording and subtitle features.
