Winter season getting a little frosty? Heat things up with the latest legendary Pokemon to come to ‘Pokemon Go:’ Heatran!
After about a month as the Tier 5 Legendary Pokemon Raid Boss, the Psychic-Type Legendary Pokemon Cresselia will be replaced by another Generation 4 Legendary Pokemon: Heatran. A dual Fire/Steel-type, Heatran will be a powerful addition to any ‘Pokemon Go’ team. The addition of Heatran comes as a bit of a surprise; many players were expecting the Lake Guardians Uxie, Azelf, and Mesprit to be the next Legendary Pokemon to join ‘Pokemon Go.’
Since Heatran is Fire/Steel-Type, this makes him doubly weak to Ground-Type moves. Groudon will be the best Pokemon to use against Heatran, although those newly evolved Rhyperior will do good as well. Being part Steel-Type also makes Heatran weak to Fighting-Type attacks. Machamp had to take a backseat for the last month due to Cresselia being a Psychic-Type, but will be a very viable option when taking on any Heatran bosses.
Heatran will be a Tier 5 raid boss from December 18th, until January 15th, so be sure to take him down a fair amount of times to stock up on his candies before he goes away.
