Google Plus Is Getting The Axe

For those of you who have completely forgotten that Google Plus is a thing, well, now you won’t have to not think about it ever again. Google announced today that, due to a massive data leak that left over 100,000 users vulnerable, Google Plus is being shut down.

Apparently, this vulnerability in Google Plus’ system has been existing untreated for a few years now, and has only just now come to light. Google has admitted that Plus never took off as a proper social network, with the vast majority of Google Plus sessions and interactions lasting less than five seconds.

With this vulnerability out in the open and these statistics together, Google has decided that it would be more efficient to simply end the service rather than attempt to fix it. Plus will still be available for Enterprise users, as it has found a mildly successful niche as an internal network for companies.
