Android is stoking the fires ahead of the upcoming I/O conference.

The Google I/O 2022 conference is scheduled to run this week from May 11 to May 12. During this conference, Google, as well as its various subsidiaries, will be showing off all of their latest hardware and software developments to get consumers excited for new device rollouts. Ahead of this conference, the Android team is giving users a little idea of what they may have in store.

In a tweet posted to the official Android Twitter, the team asked users “Which update are you most excited to see” at the I/O conference, listing four possible options: Security Updates, Messaging Updates, Cross-Device Updates, and New Partnerships.

The most popular choice has been Cross-Device Updates, such as the new pairing and sharing functions revealed back at this year’s CES. Messaging Updates is close behind, possibly hinting at tweaks to Google Messages and/or the default Android messaging app.

The real wild card in all of this is New Partnerships, which is a little too vague to speculate on. It’s possible that Google or Android have made some manner of new partnership or acquisition or tech company to facilitate overall new features, either in their devices or software.

Whatever it ends up being, we’ll know for sure after the I/O conference starting tomorrow.
