Three of the series’ most memorable games are getting a touch-up.
Back in the PS2 days, you couldn’t have a conversation about video games without the latest Grand Theft Auto coming up. Rockstar’s a household name now, sure, but in those days it was really apparent the kind of gold they’d struck with that series. Even to this day, and even with the sheer popularity and ubiquity of Grand Theft Auto 5, there are still plenty of fans out there for the older games. If you’re still holding a flame for those days, then you’ve got some good news on the horizon.
Today, Rockstar confirmed the release date Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, a remastered release of three PS2-era Grand Theft Auto games: Grand Theft Auto 3, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. These three games have been completely rebuilt in the Unreal Engine, and will feature graphical overhauls and quality of life improvements to get them on par with the current standard of the series.

The trilogy will release as a bundled digital purchase on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Rockstar’s own game launcher. Physical copies will also be available for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4. Speaking of individual consoles, the Switch version will feature gyro aiming functionality, the PC version will be able to use Nvidia DLSS, and the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions will have 4K and 60 FPS support.
The bundle will be released on November 11. The individual games of the bundle will also be available for purchase separately. San Andreas in particular will be added to Xbox Game Pass on November 11, while GTA 3 will be added to PlayStation Now.
